National Central University held a ceremony to unveil the nameplate of the SAGE at NCU. The unveiling ceremony was presided over by Vice President Lai Ching-Te, who commended NCU's proactive response to the government's policy of "Taiwan’s Pathway to Net-Zero Emissions in 2050."

Vice President Lai Ching-Te indicated that besides current achievements of wind power and solar PV, the second energy transition is down the line to accelerate the development of renewable energies such as geothermal, hydrogen, bioenergy, and ocean energy. The SAGE at NCU will play a pivotal role in this crucial mission.

By integrating research fields from earth sciences, engineering, management, information technology, and electrical engineering, NCU aims to establish interdisciplinary postgraduate degree programs in “Sustainability Leadership”, “Sustainability in Decarbonization”, and “Sustainability in Green Energy” to foster “green-collar” talents.

To achieve the goal of “Net-Zero Emissions in 2050”, sustainability and green energy are pivotal for the future. It is hoped that the SAGE will play an essential role during these critical moments for the enhancement of corporate resilience and the collective pursuit of a better and more sustainable future for humanity.
