Hydrodynamic interaction of spherical particles and its application to continuous inkjet printing

摘要:
The control of aerodynamic interactions among drops in inkjet printing is critical to drop placement accuracy. The motion of small spherical drops of unequal sizes is based on low- Reynolds number approximation. We employ the Stokesian dynamics formulation to compute the interactions between drops. The comparison of Stokesian dynamics and the Singularity Method of computing drop-drop interaction is presented. Examples of applications to inkjet printing are also presented.
