The undergraduate curriculum focuses on inculcating an understanding of Asian and Western visual arts, in order to prepare students for future work relating to connoisseurship, journalism, art criticism, and exhibitions, or to serve as a foundation for pursuing an academic career. The graduate curriculum is divided into two tracks-the visual arts and music. It places equal emphasis on in-depth research and broad perspectives, and is designed to provide students with an integrated and comprehensive training in the arts and humanities. The curriculum is divided into core courses and research seminars, with the goal of the former being the cultivation of a basic understanding of research methods and theory of art studies, and the goal of the latter being both the refinement of the student's own aesthetic interests and the strengthening of the student's knowledge of the field.
