DEADLINE of abstract : December 15, 2001

The conference will be held at the Lam Woo International Conference Center, May 22-24, 2002.  Chair is Kara Chan, Department of Communication Studies, Hong Kong Baptist University.  Conference information is available at http://www.coms.hkbu.edu.hk/mcs 

The theme of the 2002 conference is "Marketing communication strategies in a changing global environment."  Advertising, public relations, sales promotion, internet marketing, event marketing, customer relationship  management, corporate communication in a changing environment in different cultures are areas of interest for the conference.  We look forward to input and insights from the academics and the marketing communication practitioners.  The language of presentation is English. 

Specifically, topics for this conference could include (but are not restricted to):

 * Cross cultural consumer studies
 * Advertising and culture
 * E-marketing
 * Public relations and global corporate identity
 * Gender and consumption
 * Tourism and identity of places
 * Event marketing and sponsorship
 * GM food, eco-friendly products and cross cultural green marketing
 * Marketing of museums and cultural activities

Abstract submission.  A 200-300 word abstract should be submitted preferably via email to  mcs@hkbu.edu.hk as a Microsoft Word attachment or as a hard copy in Microsoft Word format on or before December 15, 2001.

The abstract  will be compiled and provided to conference participants during registration. Submissions are to be accompanied by a cover letter indicating that the submission has not been published/presented elsewhere and that all presenters will register for the conference.

indicate the title, name, postal address, phone/fax numbers, and email address for the primary contact person in the email cover letter

For hard copy submissions:
include three copies of the abstract include a 5" X 8" index card with the title, name, postal address, phone/fax numbers, and email address for the primary contact person
