課程簡介:
性別(gender)與性事(sexuality)在古典社會學理論是很邊緣的議題。當代社會學自八○年代以來,性別研究(gender
studies)逐漸成為受認可的社會學「領域」,而有關sexuality的研究大致仍出於社會問題或偏差行為等「領域」的問題意識。晚近五六年來,輻輳於gender與sexuality兩個問題軸線的理論與政略有相當活潑而出色的發展,集結了哲學、史學、人類學、政略、文化研究、文學研究等多方面的創新論述能量。社會學雖非全然缺席,但是反應不算快、貢獻不算多。本課程試圖藉Prostitution與Queer這兩項複雜的主題,探討與社會學理論相互銜接拓展的可能。課程讀物的選擇,不包括數量眾多、典範式提問的娼妓與同性戀實證研究,也不包括各種主義路線的宣言式文獻,而著眼於觀點與理論的闡發。本課程為理論研討專題,請預期課程讀物具有相當的理論密度。
課程要求:
本課程將嚴格以研究所研討課的水準要求每位參與者完成閱讀並參與討論。每週四下午三點以前繳交約五百字的提問。提問與課堂討論佔總成績50%。五月十六日繳交約一千字的學期報告研究計畫,七月一日(星期一)繳交一篇學期研究報告(八千至一萬兩千字),以可供發表(publishable)的學術論文為水準,佔總成績50%。逾期繳交的報告將依不同標準評分。
