Information For New Students
Notice: Please inform International Affairs
Office (ncuoia@ncu.edu.tw) about the date and time of arrival in
Taiwan
or the arrival at NCU.
I.
VISA:
1. Resident Visa
a. Before
entering
Taiwan
, please apply
for resident visa in
Taiwan
embassy abroad. Remember to
submit the Health Examination during the resident visa application, especially measles
and German measles (Rubella) positive antibody test record or a record of
vaccination.
b. Reason:
With resident visa, you are easy to receive Alien Resident Certificate (ARC) in
Taiwan
.
2. Visitor Visa
a. We really
NOT suggest you to enter
Taiwan
with visitor visa.
b. If you come
with visitor visa, it’s DIFFICULT to change your visitor visa to resident visa from
Ministry of Foreign Affairs, ROC(
Taiwan
), and you with the following
document which you have to prepare completely:
i.
Passport
ii.
Acceptance Letter
iii.
Financial
Statement within one
month, which declares the account could
be withdrew in
Taiwan
, and has been verified by
Taipei Economic and Culture or Taiwan Embassy Office in foreign country
iv.
Original
Diploma & Transcript with verification by Taipei Economic and Culture in
foreign country (Note: Prepare these documents, coz the documents you sent for
admission will not be returned.)
v.
Health Examination, especially
measles and German measles (Rubella) positive antibody test record or a record
of vaccination, verified by Taipei Economic and Culture or Taiwan Embassy
Office in foreign country.
II.
Arrival in
Taiwan
: Please arrive in
Taiwan
on Sept. 4th , because the Alien Resident Certificate (ARC) application should be done within
15 days after your arrival.
III.
Transportation
from the Airport to NCU.

Dormitory
1. Types: (It
is subject to change based on the announcement of dormitory office)
a. Female Dormitory (for
undergraduate and graduate students): 4 students in a room

Undergraduate Male Dormitory: 4 students in a room
c. Graduate Male
Dormitory: 2 students in a room
2. Application:

3. Required Documents that you have to submit to the International
Affairs:
a. Payment receipt
b. Medical and health insurance at least within 4 months that valid from the date of arrival in Taiwan and should be certified by Taiwan Embassy Office in foreign country..
c. Passport, Visa
d. Alien Resident
Certificate, if applicable
e. National Health Insurance card, if applicable
f. Post Office
Account Book, if applicable.
4. Required Documents that you have to submit to the departments:
a. Registration Form (with two photos)
b. The Letter of Acceptance
c. Original Academic Graduation Certificate
d. Original Transcript
e. Copy of Academic Graduation Certificate and Transcript verified by Tiawan Embassy Office in
the foreign country. (International Office will give it to you durign the registration at IA office.)

Expenses
Reference Expenses for new students (It is subject to change due to the reality)
Dormitory: ~NT$8000-15000/semester
Internet: ~NT$1000-1500/semester
Insurance: ~NT$3308-4000/semester
Health Check: ~NT1000~2000
Student Fee: ~NT$2000/semester
Tuition Fee (for graduate students): ~NT$13000~15000/semester (for
new students of NCU Scholarship, this part is waived)
Credit Fee (for PHD students): ~NT$7065/semester (It is paid for four semesters)
Credit Fee(for Master students):~NT$1570/credit
Tuition Fee (Part1)(for undergraduate students): ~NT$18000/semester
Tuition Fee(Part2)(for undergraduate students):~NT$7000~13000/semester
Alien Resident Certificate: ~NT$1000~4000(depends on the valid years)
Food: ~NT$50-100/meal
Mattress, Pillow, Quilt: ~NT$2000-3000
Others: Depend
The total suggested expenses as
the new student is about NT$40000~80000 (~US$1500-3000) .
