Postdoctoral Position in Neuroimaging, MEG/EEG, and Experimental Psychology at National Central University, Taiwan
A full-time postdoctoral position is available immediately in the Action and Cognition Laboratory (ACL) of Dr. Erik Chihhung Chang at the Institute of Cognitive Neuroscience (ICN)( The mission of the position is to apply advanced analytical methods on fMRI, MEG, and EEG data from experiments on human motor and cognitive functions.
Ongoing research directions in ACL include the following:
  1. Sequence and error-based motor learning;
  2. Relationship between action and perception;
  3. Fitness effect of physical exercise on cognition;
  4. Cognitive training;
all of which involves behavioral experimentation and neuroimaging/neurophysiological measurements.
The position will be for one year with the possibility of an extension for more years depending upon research progress and funding availability. The postdoctoral fellow will also have opportunities to develop own research within the themes of the laboratory, and collaborate with the highly interactive scientific community formed by members from National Central University, Academia Sinica, National Yang-Ming Chiao-Tung University, and National Taiwan Normal University.
1. Specific Job Descriptions
(1) To analyze behavioral, neuroelectric/neuromagnetic, and/or MRI data.
(2) Other tasks related to the operation of the lab
2. Qualifications
1. Ph.D. degree in a field related to mathematics, electrical engineering, experimental psychology, or psychometrics, preferably with expertise in programming or software tools analyzing neuroelectromagnetic physiology or neuroimages.
2. Capacities of cross-disciplinary communication, planning and organizational skills, fluent English or Chinese, and able to conduct research projects independently.
3. Salary and regulations
(1) The first year salary starts from 60,680 NT$/month, including labor and health insurance, and 1.5 months of year-end bonus (prorated according to the starting date), according to the National Central University Postdoctoral Researchers' Pay Scale (
(2) The regulation of working hours and conditions of absence are generally in accordance with the "Service Guidelines for Contractual Employees of the National Central University Educational Development and Cooperation Program"( ), with flexibility of accommodating the needs of the candidate and the project.  
4. Employment Period
The probationary period is 3 months (with normal salary). The appointment period will be until December 31, 2022, and will be renewed at the end of the year depending on performance.
