NCU-UMass Agreement, Double Degree in Biomedical Science Launched

NCU President Jing-Yang Jou and University of Massachusetts, Lowell Campus, Dean of Science Faculty, Mark E. Hines signed an MOU agreement on March 16th for the 3+2 double degree cooperation. Dean of NCU College of Health Sciences and Technology,Tien Hsu and Chairman of UMass Biological Science Department Matthew A. Nugent and former Chairman Professor Guo Huai-Cheng attended and witnessed the MOU signing ceremony.

University of Massachusetts, Lowell Campus is a comprehensive university located near Boston. University of Massachusetts is dedicated to the development of Biological Science, Material Engineering, and Nanotechnology, and it offers online courses. Compared with 2007, in-school and online students recorded a growth of 50% in 2014.

University of Massachusetts was ranked among the “Top 10 Best Value Universities” in terms of college tuition and future work opportunities by US Forbes Ranking in 2013. Enrolling in the university would allow students with accomplished academic backgrounds to expect a promising work future without the need to carry the burdens of expensive tuition and living fees.

Cooperation on the project will last for five years. By planning in advance and preparing for language skills, Biomedical students may study 3 years at NCU and then pursue an additional 2 years at UMass to obtain their Bachelor and Master Degrees and save one year. In terms of language skills, TOEFL iBT scores of 79 and above will be required to apply.
