NCU signed a memorandum of understanding with Festo, German leading brand of industrial automation, planning on building an educational, training and research center. The center will introduce industrial learning platforms, invoking transition to real practice. In respond to the government’s project “Asian Silicon Valley,” NCU actively develops regional industrial innovation.

President of NCU Jou Jing-yang indicated that facing the strategy of domestic industrial upgrades from productivity 4.0 to Asian Silicon Valley, NCU draws specific directions of development, integrates inter-college and inter-department teaching, research and human resources within the university, and invests into teaching and prospective studies on the Internet of Things, Big Data and industry 4.0.

NCU is the first university in Taiwan to sign a MOU with Festo. The professional techniques of industry 4.0 are the focus for this collaboration to plan educational trainings. The university introduces related material, equipment and teaching staff, picking up Festo’s extensive experience in industrial automation. The goal is to foster future talents and bolster the soft power embodied in international employment.

Founded in 1925, Festo is a key company in Germany’s promotion of industry 4.0. Festo is not only an international leading figure in automatic technology, but also one of the few big companies with its own independent educational training department.
