As the domestic epidemic stabilizes, National Central University (NCU) is gradually loosening its epidemic prevention policy. Starting from June 1, regulations concerning the visitors’ vehicles will be resumed to normal, allowing visitors’ vehicles to enter the university. The opening hours of the sports venues on campus will also be resumed to full time. In the first phase that starts on June 1, the sports venues will be open to faculty, students, and alumni. In the second phase that starts on July 1, they will be open to the public.
Dr. Jing-Yang Jou, President of NCU, states that body temperature screening and single-entrance control will no longer be implemented at all campus buildings as of June 1. Campus life will be resumed to normal. Meanwhile, in accordance with the “New Life Movement Rules for Epidemic Prevention” promoted by the government, NCU will strengthen autonomous health management. Regarding students’ courses, all courses will be resumed to on-campus courses. However, students from China, Hong Kong, and Macao, who have not returned to Taiwan, can continue their online courses. Courses that have already adopted online or blended learning may continue to do so with the coordinated agreements between the instructor and the students until the end of the semester.
Regarding other venues at NCU, the library will be open to the public from June 1, but relevant admission regulations shall still be followed. When entering campus restaurants, everyone must wear a mask. The number of tables and chairs will be reduced to half, and the number of people at the restaurants will be limited within 150. The NCU Guest House will continue to be closed to the public until October due to its use as an epidemic prevention residence for international students.
In accordance with the “New Life Movement Rules for Epidemic Prevention” implemented by the Central Epidemic Command Center (CECC), NCU’s holding of large-scale activities will no longer be restricted to 100 people indoors or 500 people outdoors. However, teachers and students are reminded to implement good personal hygiene habits such as handwashing, respiratory hygiene, and cough etiquette. When going out, a social distance of 1.5 meters indoors and more than one-meter outdoors shall be maintained, and masks shall be worn if the distance can’t be maintained. In the future, the university will also adjust relevant epidemic prevention measures at any time depending on the situation of the epidemic.
