ABOUT

The 2025 UAiTED Innovation Competition is designed to fulfill two objectives:

• Leverage high-tech innovation to facilitate ideas and solutions for problems related to the global sustainable development.
• Facilitate cross-regional, multicultural, and interdisciplinary global talent development.

In this competition, there will be two main categories:

1. NextGen Innovator (Students Category)
   Participants will focus on one of the three specified themes. They must identify real-world problems and propose solutions leveraging emerging technologies and innovative business models.
2. Start-Up Showcase (Start-up Category)
   Open to start-ups affiliated with or spun off from a UAiTED partner university. This category has no thematic restrictions, allowing participants to address any challenge they see fit.

 

COMPETITION THEMES (NextGen Innovator)

For the NextGen Innovator (Student) category, participants must select one of the following three themes:

1. AI for Sustainability
2. Circular Economy Solutions
3. Green Building & Urban Solutions

(Note: The Start-up Showcase category has no theme restrictions)

Gold Award: US$ 5,000
Silver Award: US$ 3,500
Bronze Award: US$ 2,500
 

Start-up Showcase (Start-up)

Grand Winner: US$10,000
 

ELIGIBILITY

NextGen Innovator (Student)

• Must be registered student at a UAiTED partner university at the time of entry.

Start-up Showcase (Start-up)

• Open to start-ups affiliated with a UAiTED partner university (via official spin-off)

 

 

HOW TO ENTER

NextGen Innovator

Stage 1: Individual Registration (March 3, 2025 - March 19, 2025)

• Register through the UAiTED official website by March 19, 2025).
• Participation in the competition is deemed as acceptance of the Official Competition Rules stated in the Infopack.
• Submissions are in English and must be completed through the UAiTED official website.

Stage 2: Team Registration (March 22, 2025 - April 11, 2025)

• Only individuals who have completed Stage 1 are eligible to form or join teams.
• A dedicated Discord community will help facilitate team formation post-registration.
• Each team must register via the UAiTED official website by April 11, 2025
• Only one representative is needed to submit the team registration form.

Start-up Showcase

• Registration Period: March 3, 2025 ~ April 11, 2025
• UAiTED only accept applicants recommended by the UAiTED partner universities.
• Each institution can recommend up to 5 Start-ups.
• Please reach out to your alma mater (UAiTED partner universities), if you're interested.
• Eligible start-ups will be invited to fill up the official registration form.

 

 

TEAM FORMATION (NextGen Innovator)

• 4-6 members per team
• Team members must represent two different regions
• No more than 50% of the team may come from the same institution
• Team formation is facilitated through the Discord Community, pre-formed teams are not necessary

(Start-up showcase teams follow their existing start-up composition and are exempt from these formation rules)
