A New Circuit Surrounding NCU Was Completed in Celebration of the 60th Anniversary of NCU's Re-establishment in Taiwan
In 2022, NCU celebrated the 60th anniversary of its re-establishment in Taiwan. The stainless steel sculpture “NCU 60” was unveiled in the opening ceremony on Sep. 6 for the completion of the newly-built circuit surrounding NCU. The innovative design and construction methods applied to this circuit route longer than 1,600 meters can be considered unparalleled among the circuit constructions in other universities.

2022 Asia-Pacific Sustainability Action Awards: NCU Won One Gold and Two Silvers
Advancing school development following the guiding principle of "sustainable development," National Central University (NCU) brilliantly shone at the 2022 Asia-Pacific Sustainability Action Awards this year. Two NCU projects, "Ecology, Living, and Economy of Taoyuan Coast: Facilitating the Sustainable Development of Taoyuan’s Coastal Environment and Culture" and "Art Immersion and Sustainable Community: Co-prosperity of the Local Culture in Zhongli and Pingzhen," were honorably awarded one gold and two silvers in total.

The Most Distant BL Lacertae Object Discovered by NCU’s Astronomy Team
Professor Hwang Chorng-Yuan and Assistant Research Scholar Ekaterina Koptelova at the Graduate Institute of Astronomy discovered a BL Lacertae (BL Lac) object at a redshift of around 6.5. This newly discovered BL Lac object has currently become the most distant one among other BL Lac objects known to the world, setting a new record in the astronomy field. The research outcome was also published in The Astrophysical Journal Letters, bringing new insights into the knowledge of models of active galactic nuclei and the origin and evolution of supermassive black holes.

iHouse Was Unveiled: A Brand New Independent Learning Space for Students
The learning space, iHouse, that students had been long looking forward to was officially unveiled on the day of the 60th anniversary of NCU’s re-establishment in Taiwan. iHouse, formerly Female Dorm #5, was reconstructed and re-designed. This new building is not only bright and clean but also innovatively designed and full of inspiration. iHouse, in its Chinese name Xiang-Xiang Space, connotes the expectation that students can enjoy exchanging their thoughts and sharing them. It could become the learning space that inspires positive thinking and diverse dialogues.

NCU’s 60th Anniversary of Re-establishment in Taiwan, Anticipating the Reaching of a New Height
On May 20, National Central University (NCU) celebrated her 60th anniversary of re-establishment in Taiwan and her 107th anniversary. Initially located in Miaoli and relocated in Zhongli, Taoyuan, NCU has been re-established for six decades, cultivated almost 80,000 NCU alumni, and become one of the top universities of excellent research and teaching in Taiwan. In the celebration ceremony, NCU commended distinguished alumni-elected of the 18th and 19th Distinguished Alumni Nominations and many other outstanding NCU members for their performance and contributions. In the meantime, with the celebration, we expected that all NCU members will keep making breakthroughs and reach a new height.
