NCU Ranked the Top 4 in Taiwan for Five Consecutive Years in the Best Global Universities Rankings
According to the latest 2019 Best Global Universities Rankings announced by the U.S. News & World Report, NCU has ranked fourth among the universities in Taiwan for five consecutive years, keeping up with National Taiwan University (NTU), National Tsing Hua University (NTHU), and National Cheng Kung University (NCKU). Particularly, in the indicator rankings “international collaboration,” NCU has ranked 39th among the universities worldwide and has remained the top 1 consecutively among the universities in Taiwan.
In terms of research and university-industry collaboration performance, NCU has accomplished quite a few projects and has achieved excellence continuously. In eight major academic fields—Earth Sciences, Engineering, Material Science, Computer Science, Physics, Chemistry, Social Sciences, and Clinical Medicine—NCU gained strong international competitiveness, ranking top 1% in Essential Science Indicators (ESI) of the Institute for Scientific Information (ISI). Among these fields, NCU has devoted to the field of Clinical Medicine and has established solid foundation. After the College of Health Sciences and Technology was founded in 2014, faculty members of the college have had brilliant performance on the international stage. In the Top 100 Worldwide Universities Granted U.S. Utility Patents in 2017 announced by the National Academy of Inventors (NAI) and the Intellectual Property Owners Association (IPO), NCU ranked 98th and was the top 5 among Taiwanese universities, marking the glorious achievement.
